From Struggle to Strength: Why I Became a Nutrition Coach (And What That Means for You)
Hello!
I’m so glad you’re here. If you’ve been trying to lose weight or feel better in your body—and it’s felt like an uphill battle—you’re in the right place.
My name is Jessica, and I’m a certified nutrition coach. Before I ever coached anyone else, I had to coach myself—through years of struggling with my own weight and relationship with food.
My Story: A Familiar Frustration
For most of my life, I felt like I was either “on a diet” or “off the rails.” I tried every approach under the sun—low carb, clean eating, food tracking, “just eat less and move more.” At one point, I even lost 50 pounds—only to gain it back when I changed jobs and my routine fell apart.
Then things got worse. I was constantly starting over, exhausted, and blaming myself for not having enough willpower. Most nights ended in binge eating, followed by a promise to start fresh tomorrow with a new plan and stricter rules.
Sound familiar?
It took me a long time to realize the problem wasn’t me. The problem was the plans I kept trying to follow. They weren’t designed for real life. They didn’t help me understand what my body needed—or how to build habits that could actually last.
What Changed
One day, I had a moment of clarity: all the nutrition knowledge I had collected over the years was actually holding me back. My brain was overflowing with “rules” like only eat organic, free range is best, carbs cause water weight—to the point where I couldn’t even see that grabbing a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store was a great option compared to drive-thru takeout.
When I finally let go of the obsession with eating “perfectly” and started focusing on simple, sustainable choices, everything changed. I began to eat in a way that supported my energy, mood, and metabolism—not just my weight. I gave myself permission to be imperfect. I stopped punishing myself and started supporting myself.
And most importantly, I stopped doing it alone.
